The colon and rectal surgeons here specialize in minimally invasive techniques for surgical resection and support an enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program that shortens hospital admission and total recovery time after surgery compared to traditional treatment. Baylor Scott & White North Texas Colon and Rectal Associates and Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, have been selected by the American College of Surgeons and the Commission on Cancer to be one of only six pilot programs in the United States for the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer. We work closely with specialists in medical and radiation oncology to provide 360-degree care to patients with cancer. We also work closely with specialists in gastroenterology for the management of inflammatory bowel diseases: ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. We also offer comprehensive management of fecal incontinence and pelvic floor disorders. This multidisciplinary approach to care ensures that all aspects of the patient's experience are considered.
