Surgical treatments and procedures
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Institute has maintained a long-standing reputation for quality surgical care throughout the Dallas and Plano communities. Our surgeons are known for consistently offering patients comprehensive care in a comfortable and caring environment.
In an effort to offer our patients the best outcomes possible, we take an individualized approach to developing treatment plans that include minimally invasive surgical techniques where appropriate. Some of our procedures include:
- Advanced laparoscopic surgery: Laparoscopy is a technique for doing surgery using a thin, lighted tube with a camera called a laparoscope. The scope is put through one small skin incision, and surgical tools are put through other small incisions. Many surgeries are done using this technique. Some of the more common general surgeries we perform using this method are gallbladder, hernia and abdominal surgery
- Pancreas, liver, gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery
- Head and neck surgery: Our surgeons perform head and neck surgeries including thyroid, parathyroid and parotid. Surgery can be an effective treatment for hyperthyroidism, malignant nodules or those that grow or cause symptoms
