Our program is designed to produce outstanding perioperative clinicians and future leaders in anesthesiology
Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center and the Anne Burnett Marion School of Medicine at Texas Christian University offer a categorical 4-year Anesthesiology Residency Program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Residents will be involved in the entire spectrum of the patient’s operative experience from optimizing preoperative medical conditions, delivering safe and comprehensive intraoperative anesthetic care, including intraoperative echocardiography skills, and managing acute and chronic pain. The broad and diverse clinical caseload is augmented by an innovative didactic curriculum that allows residents to meaningfully contribute to improving the clinical outcome of patients.
We accept four (4) residents per year.

Visiting facilities
In addition to Baylor Scott & White All Saints, residents will also visit these locations during their rotations.
Texas Children’s Hospital – Main Campus
Rotations at this hospital will allow residents to have exposure to the full range of neonatal and pediatric anesthesia care for healthy children and to those with complex medical conditions. During the PGY-3 year, residents will have a two-month rotation at Texas Children’s Hospital with an opportunity to have an additional one-month rotation during their PGY-4 year for those interested in a career as a pediatric anesthesiologist. Rotations at this hospital campus will be supplemented by individual one-bedroom fully furnished apartments with covered parking and food allowance.
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital – Fort Worth
Rotations at this hospital will allow residents to learn the complex management of patients living with pain. Residents will develop the ability to formulate a treatment plan for chronic pain patients including pharmacological therapy and interventional pain procedures. During their PGY-3 year, residents will have 2 one-month rotations on the Pain Management Service with the option of having up to an additional 2- months in their PGY-4 year for those residents interested in pursuing a fellowship in Anesthesiology Pain Management.
How to apply
We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically accept residency applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from your medical school.
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and abide by its policies.
Interview process
Interviews will be conducted virtually. Applicants will receive available interview dates from the Program Coordinator. If you need to change your interview date, please contact the Program Coordinator as soon as possible. The ability to change an interview date once selected is not guaranteed. We will offer an informal in-person visit to tour our facility and meet our faculty following the conclusion of interview dates and prior to the date of the Match Rank List submission dateline. Please check our webpage regularly for updates.
Application requirements
In order to be considered for the program, applicants must submit the following materials:
- Medical school transcript
- Letter from the Medical School Dean/Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
- Personal statement
- Curriculum vitae (CV)/resumé
- USMLE scores* and/or COMLEX scores
- Three (3) letters of evaluation (preferably one from the Chair or Program Director of Anesthesiology, and the other two from anesthesiologists, critical care attendings, surgeons, and/or cardiologists). Not all three letters should be from anesthesiologists.
Step 1 and Step 2 USMLE and/or COMLEX scores are mandatory for applying to our program. Applicants who have not taken Step 2 will not receive an offer to interview.
