Overview

Inpatient service

The family medicine hospital service is run by our faculty and residents. We admit patients who receive their primary care in the surrounding Baylor Scott & White family medicine clinics. It is a comprehensive experience to further training in inpatient medicine while maintaining a focus on continuity of care.

Outpatient service

On the outpatient side, residents enjoy the variety of patients seen in the family medicine residency clinic, which leads to a strong foundation in primary care. Patient-centered teams help residents manage their own panel of patients. In the Baylor Scott & White Health system, we benefit from a well integrated EMR and network of specialty physicians to provide high quality care.

Call schedule

There is minimal call for our residents, who cover the family medicine hospital service in day and night shifts. There are in house weekend calls shared by the PGY-2 class and no call or night shifts in the PGY-3 year.

How to apply

We use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to electronically accept residency applications, letters of recommendations, dean’s letters, transcripts and other credentials directly from your medical school.
