Biography
Dr. Hernandez-Montfort grew up watching his parents – both physicians – work, and learning early the art of medicine and communication. He has pioneered programs in advanced cardiopulmonary disease and recovery across the globe with the goal of translating research to educational initiatives that help couple improved patient experience and longitudinal outcome. He is thrilled to now serve the Central Texas community and help improve their well-being. He is interested in advanced heart disease translational and clinical research with a focus on early recognition and early staging of cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, ventricular unloading and transitions to recovery, replacement and/or palliation. Dr. Hernandez-Montfort enjoys soccer, spending time with his family, talking about The Savage Detectives, and watching his kids grow in multiple dimensions.
