Krista Lynn Birkemeier, MD

Dr. Krista Birkemeier is a board-certified radiologist specializing in pediatric radiology. Her professional interests include pediatric imaging, fetal imaging, child abuse imaging, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and quality improvement.  She is also involved in adult imaging and emergency room imaging.


Dr. Birkemeier is passionate about improving care for her patients, from newborns to older adults, in a positive work environment. She finds it rewarding to have a well-rounded career involving education, leadership, research, service, and collaboration with other specialties.

Dr. Birkemeier is a member of the American Board of Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the Texas Radiological Society, the Radiologic Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Association for Women in Radiology and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She is proud to serve in several leadership positions and service committees in the field of radiology locally and nationally.

Outside of work, Dr. Birkemeier enjoys supporting her young children in their school, sports, and extracurricular activities.
