Leticia Castillo Kontak, MD

Dr. Leticia Castillo Kontak is a board-certified cardiologist with a particular interest in echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing, screening and primary prevention of cardiovascular disease and wellness.

Dr. Castillo Kontak focuses on a wide range of cardiovascular disorders, including screening and management of coronary artery disease, valvular disease and arrhythmias. She provides transesophageal echocardiography imaging for percutaneous valve interventions including transcatheter edge-to-edge repair and left atrial appendage occlusion devices.


As a clinical educator, she teaches in the cardiovascular disease fellowship program.

Dr. Castillo Kontak holds a professional membership with the American College of Cardiology.

She treats adult patients and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Outside of work, Dr. Castillo Kontak enjoys traveling internationally with her family, spending time at music festivals, cycling and strength training.

Dr. Kontak has been recognized as a Top Doc 2023, 2024, and 2025 by Austin Monthly Magazine. Winners are nominated by their peers as among the best in their region/nation in their medical specialty.
