Raja Dhanekula, MD

Raja Dhanekula, MD, discovered his passion for hepatology while in medical school, taking care of patients with little access to liver transplant. He completed his medical training at Siddhartha Medical College in India and his residency in internal medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. He completed fellowship training in gastroenterology, advanced hepatology and transplant hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
 
Dr. Dhanekula finds it rewarding to diagnose and educate patients with fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis and cirrhosis. As a dedicated hepatologist, he is most gratified in helping patients and family members navigate the complexities of the liver transplant program. His goal is to make sure patients benefit from convenient tertiary level expertise for liver disorders here in the Greater Austin Region.
