Biography
Sahil Bakshi, DO is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease. He has a special interest in preventative cardiology, women and heart disease, valvular heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension. He currently serves as the medical director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, and physician leader of Informatics at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and is a founding member of the Society for Cardiovascular CT. While completing his fellowship in Cardiology at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation, he was named Chief Cardiology Fellow in 2004-2005 and served on the Medical Education Curriculum Committee. He also served on the Book Review Committee for the Doody Publishing House and was given the Best Case Presentation award at the American College of Chest Physicians Annual Meeting in 2003. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and his D.O. degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was on the Dean's Honor Roll and graduated first in his class. As an undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Dr. Bakshi was active in the Asian American community and served as Asian American Student Association President and received the Outstanding Asian American Award.
